I was quoted about 700 usd equivalent for the parts and installation as opposed to just buying a cheap GK-3 pickup. Amazingly enough, Ralph Benchetrit created a antastic Roland VG-88 editor, available free online. But of course it's a much more expensive solution. The ones that get builin to the saddles/bridge sound more consistent. And it ends sounding pretty good, but less good for bends and certain things. It's got the box you have to mount on it, and the extra pickup to stick under and measure perfectly. It's just more clunky that getting pickups built right in.
